Industrial Building & Roofing Contractors CC (IBR Contractors) was established in 1999. The members, Dutch and Ryan van Leeuwen have between them over 50 years’ experience in the construction industry.

Dutch left Zimbabwe to work in South Africa in 1980 and over the next 19 years worked for two large construction companies carrying out Civil Construction works and managing/supervising the construction of over 100 warehouses and factories in the Durban and North Coast areas.

Ryan matriculated at Thomas More College(2002) before attending the University of Durban where he obtained his BSC degree in Property Developments in 2005. After working for a PQS firm Ryan joined a large construction company as a Project QS, here he spent three invaluable years before joining IBR Contractors.

Over the past twenty years Dutch and Ryan have developed an impressive record of contracts and repeat customers.

The success of IBR Contractors in the Construction Industry has been due to them being backed by a solid team of staff who have added their full support, work and loyalty towards helping build up its reputation.

IBR’s permanent teams are led by Senior Foreman; Gopal (1999), Raj (2008), Shiraaz (1999), & Chalandra (1999) all whom manage a core group of a varied skilled work force. These teams are well supported by Cuan (2011) our Construction Supervisor & Safety Officer.

In our office is Carmen (2022) who managers the Accounts and Leigh (2019) overseeing Marketing and Admin.

In recognition of our staff support and to open up an extended market of opportunity. IBR Projects was established in 2019. This company is owned by Dutch, Ryan and some of our long standing site supervisors.

IBR Projects are committed to the advancement of Broad Based Black Empowerment Equity (BBBEE) plans. Our Company is committed to a skills development strategy that is in accordance with BBBEE development, in which the company acknowledges that staff training and development results in productivity improvements and greater workforce flexibility.

We currently have a BBBEE verification certificate of a level three (3).

The success of IBR contractors is built on their passion for working in the construction industry, following and adhering to the Standard Building Regulations JBCC 2000 and MBSA Contract Agreements for all the construction elements and ensuring that at all times during the project they have a happy and satisfied customer.
